The Great City is the crossroads of cultures and people. A highly tolerant city, ruled by a fistful of wise men and women. The city lives for commerce and business; a popular saying tells: "You can find everything in the Great City -- and if you can't find it, well, you will soon." The city is overlooked by a towering ancient castle, its origin unknown. A mighty wall encircles the six Wards (Army, Castle, Dock, Residential, Temple, and Trades). It is said a huge dungeon complex lies under the central mountain.

A sprawling mercantile colony thousands of years old, the Great City is rife with excitement, intrigue, and adventure. By day some 50,000 proud citizens bustle across the six Wards. Night cloaks the deviant works of social outcasts, mad alchemists, and corpse robbers.

The civil war between the native Azindraleans and their Kortezian conquerors ended three decades ago. An underground of resistance fighters and crime syndicates struggle against oppression by the current ruler, Lord Erasmus VI, incompetent son of a brutal emperor. Disillusioned soldiers wait for their lord to fall.

The Great City campaign setting is designed to fit any existing fantasy campaign. Compatible with the popular 0one Blueprints series, this book contains detailed description of the six Wards of the Great City, with relevant NPCs, adventure locations, unique creatures, encounters, and more. Statistics are provided for OGL-based fantasy systems (D&D 3.x, Pathfinder, etc.), and the setting works well with any fantasy rules set. A short introducing adventure "The Cost of Freedom," can kick off your Great City campaign.

0one's Blueprints: The Great City (retail price $2): This blueprint-style map of the Great City includes a single-sheet version for easy reference, and a second version split into six sheets, one per Ward. Each version is presented in two styles: old-fashioned blueprint and standard black-and-white.

The comprehensive Great City Player's Guide sourcebook contains new races, residences in the Great City, taxation, religion, Azindralean tongs, organizations, and professions. A Pound of Flesh is a low-level urban d20 adventure (for four 3rd-level characters) that introduces players to the Great City campaign setting. The player characters enter the Dock Ward to investigate the disappearance of a local pearl merchant who vanished suspiciously after a bender. The PCs soon learn there have been many disappearances. The trail leads from a haggish fortuneteller to a Saltshacks fishmonger, an imp-infested mortuary, grimlock cultists, and a revolutionary plot.
