Corsairs of Cthulhu: Fighting the Mythos in the Golden Age of Piracy is a licensed Call of Cthulhu Seventh Edition campaign sourcebook set in the Caribbean, 1650-1730. Great Britain, France, and Spain are planting their flags, founding colonies on any piece of land they can hold, and crushing local cultures. Islands are renamed every few years; empires rise and fall; privateers may sail under a patron country's flag, but won't hesitate to raise the black when it's profitable.
The 299-page Corsairs of Cthulhu guide describes this historical period with new skills and occupations; rules for alchemy, voodoo, and sea combat; weapons and equipment; a bestiary; maps and descriptions of Port Royal, Nassau, and Tortuga; non-Mythos dangers like disease, dehydration, sea monsters, and other pirates; and an appendix of "Slang, Swears, Songs, and Shanties."
In the epic 12-part campaign "The Astronomer's Map" your Spanish galleon sails from the high seas of the Caribbean to the South Pacific. You'll face, and maybe fire cannons at, ice walkers at Drake's Passage, rat-things on (what will later be known as) Easter Island, Deep Ones in Polynesia, and finally Great Cthulhu himself. Encounters with Mythos heavy hitters like Nyarlathotep, Dagon, and the King in Yellow can send many sailors to Davy Jones's Locker. Includes conversion notes for Pulp Cthulhu.
